Sue & Steve at Solhäll, Gotland and Fårö

Last Wednesday late evening Sue and Steve arrived to Västervik - and as the rain was heavy we did not pick them up in our Buster but with our car. "Midsommar" in Västervik - and in all Sweden - was very wet - but we visited St. Gertrud´s church and we had a nice walk - and a very nice lunch!

Saturday evening we left for Gotland and the ferry was fantastic! We checked in at Scandic Hotel so close to the harbour in Visby and had a good night´s sleep before the typical Swedish hotel breakfast serving everything - and I do mean everything!

After breakfast we visited the "Lummelundagrottorna" - very famous worldwide - and then after have seeing some f the giant "rauker" we took the ferry to Fårö on the top of Gotland. We did visit Ingemar Bergman´s museum - very interesting - and yesterday we strolled around all old Visby inside the walls.

Fantastic days with our close friends!

Beautiful wooden boats in the harbour of Västervik
A "candel fabrique" where Sue & Steve bought a candel with their daughters name on it

Having a nice Midsommar-lunch indoors because of the rain
And suddenly it started to drip from the cealing.....
The "boys" placed some buckets - and we relaxed
Dinner at the veranda with Swedish and English flags
I do not know what they are checking ------ perhaps the menue for Midsummer night...
And Saturday evening we left with this beautiful boat for Gotland
Very comfortable in the front of the boat - of course booked!
Next morning we visited the caves in Lummelunda - an amazing place!
And we were stunned.... FANTASTIC!
One "formation" inside one of the big caves
We are "taken" by these fantastic caves....
One of the most famous "rauk" in Gotland
The "Ingemar Bergman Museum" at Fårö
And Fårö also has welknown stone formations
Enjoying lunch in the sun somewhere at Fårö
Yesterday we walked at the inside the wall of Visby - 3,440 meters - and so beautiful

The "boys" were up there and below you have a miniature of the tower at thet time
We were so impressed!
Sue & Steve leaving us and Västervik this morning in heavy rain... Will they come back?
